[× Traditional craftsman] Hand fir silver foil shopper bag

◎ KENTO HASHIGUCHI × Traditional craftsman Isao Shirai (hand fir silver foil)
A shopper bag realized in collaboration with a traditional craftsman in Kyoto and a young bag designer who is active in Kyoto.
Using the traditional technique "hand fir foil" used in Nishijin, Kyoto, the uniquely developed "silver foil" expresses a three-dimensional shadow by spraying ink, giving the illusion of uneven metal. .. Since all are handmade, the finished hand fir silver foil is completed as a material that is unique in the world. There are two types of handles that use leather straps and Kyoto braids.

◎ Types of strings ・ Black leather string: A material made by processing genuine cowhide into a round string with a diameter of 5 mm and coating it with black. It was used for goods, and was also used as a decoration for high-ranking people such as royal families and aristocrats, and developed in Kyoto, which was the capital. This time, we combined the square braids and used a reversible braid to take advantage of the texture of the crown (loose) braid.

◎ Product description

"KENTO HASHIGUCHI" made a paper bag that you often see in town as a bag, "shopper bag". Although it looks like a paper bag, in order to give it strength as a bag, a bottom stud is attached and metal fittings are also attached to the edges of the fabric. Making a round hole in the fabric and passing the handle vertically is similar to a paper bag. In addition, while maintaining the form of a paper bag, the bottom studs on the bottom and the metal fittings on the corners that accentuate it provide sufficient strength. You can hang it on your shoulder or hold it in your hand like a regular paper bag.
