◎KENTO HASHIGUCHI × Traditional craftsman Isao Shirai (silver foil)
This is the second series of shopper bags, created in collaboration with Shirai Isao, a Kyoto Nishijin obi craftsman who is certified as a traditional craftsman.
Using the traditional technique of "HIKIBAKU" used in Kyoto Nishijin, three types of silver foil are randomly cut and arranged by artisans with years of experience to create a one-of-a-kind pattern. Despite the seemingly flashy color of silver, the artisan's technique elevates it to a design that mysteriously blends in with any outfit.◎Work Description
The "shopper bag" was inspired by paper bags and has been sublimated into a bag that is also strong. It is based on a paper bag, but it is not too casual and has a sense of elegance. In particular, the metal fittings on the top four corners are accents that make it look like a bag rather than a paper bag. It also has a bottom stud so you can place it on the ground without hesitation. The handles are thin but are more durable than they look, and you can carry things like a computer. It has an inner pocket so you can use it according to your needs.
The shopper mini can store not only a smartphone and wallet, but also a 500ml plastic bottle at the same time. It can also store small items such as a small pouch for handkerchiefs and lip balm. It has a gusset of about 9 cm, so it has more storage capacity than it looks.
